PLAN TO ATTEND THE ROPE WARRIOR
David Fisher, also known as the Rope Warrior, will perform Friday, April 28 in the Wawasee High School Auditorium. Fisher will show off different jump rope tricks during the hour-long show. The Rope Warrior has been called the “World’s Best Rope Jumper” by Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and holds two world records. Admission is free. Seating is limited. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting promptly at 7 p.m. This event is sponsored in collaboration with local public and school libraries and school PTOs to encourage students to participate in local Summer Reading Programs.
LEARN WITH LAPSIT
Spring is here! It’s time for again for Lapsit at the library! Lapsit Story Time is for infants to three-year-old children. Little ones can enjoy stories and songs with Miss Kaitlyn. Our theme is “Owls.” Lapsit is every Tuesday in April with sessions at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. If you have any questions, give the library a call at (574) 658-4312.
JUST DUCKY STORY TIME
Children aged 3 to 6 are invited to Spring Story Time this week! Join us on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. or on Thursdays at 7 p.m. for stories, an activity and a snack. This week kids will enjoy a “Just Ducky” story time with a duck craft and stories. Themes this spring include “Wiggly Worms,” “Poet Tree,” and “Stuffed Animal Tea Party.” Sign up at the children’s desk now or call (574) 658-4312 for more information.
BOOK BUNDLES AVAILABLE IN THE CHILDREN’S DEPARTMENT
Book Bundles are perfect for quick trips into the library when you’ve got no time to browse. A Book Bundle is a collection of four or five books of the same subject that are ready to be checked out. Some bundles include collections from popular authors, like Jonathan London’s Froggy books, Fancy Nancy’s adventures, and the Pinky and Rex chapter book series. Others focus on subjects like spring, dinosaurs, and manners. Look for the Book Bundles display in the children’s department near the DVD section.

Cook up delicious desserts with recipes from Weight Watchers Family Meals, and Paula Deen Celebrates! that are located in the adult nonfiction section. We’ve also got a Wilton Easter basket cake pan available to take home that is located at the beginning of the adult nonfiction section.
Kids can get cooking too with Easter Sweets and Treats by Ruth Owens located in the children’s nonfiction section.
Young readers can enjoy Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure by Kimberly and James Dean, Miz Frannie Mae’s Fine New Easter Hat by Melissa Milich, Cranberry Easter by Wende Devlin. Lilies, Rabbits, and Painted Eggs by Edna Barth teaches kids about the story behind Easter symbols. Kids can get inspired by Crafts for Easter by Kathy Ross. They’ll be entertained with movies Easter Bunny Adventure and VeggieTales ‘Twas the Night Before Easter.
The Women of Easter by Liz Curtis Higgs explains the stories of Mary of Nazareth and Mary Magdalene. Decorating for the Holidays includes ideas for recipes, decorations, and entertaining. Both books are located in the adult nonfiction department
