ETNA GREEN — An Etna Green man is facing battery charges after one of four present children captured video of him battering his wife.

Travis Michael Dickson, 32, 129 E. Spring St., Etna Green, is being charged with battery to a family member with a child under 16 present, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to a battery call at Dickson’s address. When the officer arrived to the home, they spoke with Dickson’s wife who advised she had been battered by Dickson, causing a bloody nose, an abrasion under her left eye and a red swollen ear.

The officer was also advised that a minor, AA, was also battered, causing wrist and back pain. Both the wife and AA were transported to Parkview in Warsaw for treatment of their injuries.

The affidavit states that the officer then spoke with minor BB who witnessed the battery and videotaped part of the incident on his phone. The officer was able to view the video and witnessed a portion of the battery.

Two other minors were in the home and could hear the altercation.

Dickson was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail and held on $5,250 surety and cash bond.
