Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:04 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, East Harper Road and East CR 700N, Leesburg. Driver: Taylor L. Patton, 30, East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Patton advised she did not realize the road had a curve until she was in it. She applied her brakes to adjust the speed but slid on the wet pavement resulting in the vehicle going off the road and into a ditch. Damages up to $2,500.
8:04 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, North SR 13, north of East Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver: Evangelos Ioannou, 67, North Turkey Creek Road, Syracuse. Driver advised that a large bird struck the windshield. Damages up to $1,000.
8:31 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, North CR 650E, south of East CR 150N, Pierceton. Driver: Tiffany N. Angiano, 25, North Main Street, Sidney. Driver struck a deer. Damages up to $2,500.
9:13 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, North CR 950W, south of West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Driver: Elaine H. Miller, 24, West CR 600N, Etna Green. Driver struck a deer. Damages up to 2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:34 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, West Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Nancy S. Schmucker, 48, West CR 125N, Etna Green, and Sarah A. Paro, 28, Durham Court, Winona Lake. The vehicles collided in a parking lot. Damages up to $5,000.
11:24 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, Anchorage Road, east of North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Katlyn B. Kays, 25, Nature View Drive, Warsaw. Kays advised that she was traveling eastbound on Anchorage Road when a vehicle turned off of an access road and struck the side of her vehicle. She stated that the driver got out of his vehicle, looked at the damage, yelled at her and then fled the scene. Damages up to $2,500.
