UPDATE: Driver Airlifted To Fort Wayne Hospital
UPDATE: George A. Bushong, 94, East Searfoss Drive, Syracuse, suffered a possible head injury and was airlifted to a Fort Wayne Hospital following a two-vehicle accident. The accident was at 2:45 p.m. Monday, March 27, on East CR 1400N (County Line Road) west of North Warner Road, Syracuse.
Bushong’s 2005 Buick LaSabre was struck in the driver’s side front by a 1992 Chevrolet truck driven by Matthew A. Schroeder, 49, North Noe Street, Kimmell. Schroeder was not injured.
Schroeder was eastbound on CR 1400N, approaching Warner Road, when he saw Bushong drive his vehicle out in front of him. Schroeder stated he locked up his brakes but was unable to avoid hitting the vehicle. Bushong told police he thought he had pulled out in front of the truck. Damage was estimated up to $5,000.
SYRACUSE — A male driver has been airlifted to a Fort Wayne Hospital as a precaution following a two-vehicle accident on the Elkhart/Kosciusko County Line Road and Warner Road, north of Syracuse. The accident occurred at approximately 2:44 p.m. today, Monday, March 27.
According to information at the scene, the male driver of a Buick LeSabre pulled out in front of the driver of a Chrevrolet truck. The driver of the Buick suffered possible head injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet truck was not injured.
Turkey Creek Township Fire Department and Syracuse Police responded.
A landing zone for the air ambulance was set up at Wawasee High School.
