WCS Announces Renaming Of Tiger Den, Hiring Of Chief Analytics Officer
WARSAW — Two large announcements were made at the Warsaw School Board meeting held on Monday, March 20. Teachers Credit Union and Warsaw Community Schools are entering a 10-year naming rights agreement and the corporation has hired a chief analytics officer.
The Warsaw Community High School gymnasium has been renamed Tiger Den TCU Court after board approval. Revenue from the 10-year naming rights agreement will support the school corporation. Signage noting the new name will be installed both inside and outside the building. In addition to the naming rights, the career center has registered in the TCU Financial Empowerment Program. This program provides free curriculum to help students make smart financial decisions.
TCU employees were present at the board meeting to celebrate the partnership.
“Warsaw has a proud history of athletic and academic excellence and Teachers Credit Union is excited to serve and contribute to the area’s rich traditions and wide variety of victories,” said Teachers Credit Union President and CEO Paul Marsh.
“Beyond current support within our corporation, this expanded collaboration with Teachers Credit Union increases efficiencies in operations and allows the district to leverage its resources as we continue to provide an excellent educational experience to our children and our community,” said Board President Heather Reichenbach.
The next big announcement approved by the board was the hiring of a chief analytics officer. Shelly Wilfong will be the chief analytics officer for WCS beginning May 1. Wilfong worked for Goshen Community Schools for 19 years and was most recently assistant principal at Northridge High School.
Funding for the position was made possible by the Indiana Department of Education through the University of Virginia initiative. Wilfong will serve on the staff as an expert in the field of educational data management.
