Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:33 p.m. Saturday, March 18, West Winona Avenue and South Columbia Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jon A. Siesennop, 66, Hartzler Street, Warsaw, and Gavin M. Hucks, 26, East North Street, Akron. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Siesennop was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for complaint of chest and left side pain. Damages up to $10,000.
3:10 p.m. Saturday, March 18, East Winona Avenue, east of South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Shawn M. Stineback, 34, North Center Street, North Webster, and Kyle J. Schanlaub, 36, East CR 1000N, Rochester. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damages up to $5,000.
12:02 a.m. Sunday, March 19, West CR 300N, north of Silveus Crossing, Warsaw. Driver: Keaton J. Irwin, 21, West CR 300N, Warsaw. Irwin lost control of his vehicle, over-corrected and then went into a ditch. A male passenger was located walking along the road and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment as he was bleeding from the rear of his head. Irwin was located at his residence, which is within walking distance from the crash scene. Irwin admitted to being the driver and was arrested for OWI resulting in serious bodily injury and failure to stop after an accident. Damages up to $25,000.
11:44 a.m. Sunday, March 19, US 30 and CR 650W, Warsaw. Driver: Chad A. Maure, 29, South 23rd Street, South Bend. Driver struck a deer. Damages up to $5,000.
7:12 p.m. Sunday, March 19, East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Isidro M. Flores, 59, Cook Street, Warsaw, and Shanker Krishnan, 26, Lakeland Drive, Warsaw. Flores backed into Krishnan’s vehicle while backing out of a parking space. Damages up to $1,000.
7:23 a.m. Monday, March 20, West Winona Avenue, east of South Union Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Samantha Hoek, 18, East Clark Street, Warsaw, Barbra J. Martz, 42, North Scott Street, Warsaw, Katia Guerra Martinez, 22, North CR 175E, Warsaw, and Nathaniel Gottschalk, 17, North Timberline Circle, Warsaw. Hoek rear-ended Martz’s vehicle. Hoek then attempted to back up, backing into Martinez’s vehicle and causing Martinez’s vehicle to collide with Gottschalk’s vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
1:36 p.m. Monday, March 20, West Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Katina M. Haines, 42, Maye Street, Warsaw, and Lester Calhoun, 74, East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. The drivers backed into each other while backing out of parking spaces. Damages up to $5,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
5:19 p.m. Saturday, March 18, North SR 13 and East Epworth Forest Road, North Webster. Drivers: Haley M. Patrick, 20, East CR 100S, Pierceton, and Jeffrey A. Guyas, 56, North CR 450E, Syracuse. Patrick rear-ended Guyas’ vehicle. Damages up to $5,000.
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
1:34 a.m. Sunday, March 19, EMS T16 Lane, east of EMS T16A Lane, North Webster. Driver: Wesley P. Lantz, 39, East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Lantz advised he failed to see that the road ended because he was distracted by his phone. He drove off the end of the paved road, over a cement wall and into a lake channel. Lantz reportedly left the scene of the crash. Damages up to $50,000.
8:16 p.m. Sunday, March 19, South CR 400E, north of East SR 14, Silver Lake. Driver: Mark D. Bergman, 24, South CR 400E, Claypool. Driver swerved to avoid striking a deer and collided with a guard rail. Damages up to $10,000.
9:42 a.m. Monday, March 20, CR 500W, north of CR 1350N, Milford. Driver: Angela R. Walter, 23, West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Walter advised she went off the roadway due to road conditions and struck a utility pole. Damages up to $50,000.
