Police Arrest Woman For Theft, Discover Drugs In Body Cavity
WARSAW — A Peru woman was arrested for a theft and officers discovered she was holding drugs inside a body cavity while booking her into the jail.
Morgan Boehme, 24, 906 W Main St., Peru, is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of two or more chemical reagents with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, a level 6 felony; two counts of theft, class A misdemeanors; and possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
On Feb. 24, officers with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a theft at Big R. Employees stated that two women entered the store, selected clothing and entered a changing room. When the women left, they returned one item and left the store. Employees found tags and removable soft alarms discarded in the dressing room. Six articles of clothing were taken, valued at $236.96.
The women were seen leaving in a gray vehicle, headed eastbound on US 30. An officer with the Pierceton Police Department located the vehicle at a gas station. The WPD officer arrived and identified Boehme and another female.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Boehme admitted to the officer that she stole clothing from Big R. She further advised that the other woman did not steal anything. The officer recovered the stolen articles of clothing inside the vehicle. Upon searching further, the officer discovered three knives, a flashlight and multiple chemical reagents that Boehme advised were from Menards.
Boehme was then transported to the Kosciusko County Jail. Female jail officers began to search her and discovered a ball covered with electrical tape inside her vagina. The ball contained two plastic bags, one containing marijuana and one containing methamphetamine.
The officer then spoke with Menards lost prevention. The video surveillance shows that the other woman purchased and paid for the chemical reagents and that Boehme stole the three knives and flashlight. These items were valued at $144.36.
Boehme currently has two pending criminal cases in Miami County for maintaining a common nuisance and theft.
