Grace Basketball: Ladies Lose At IWU
MARION – The Grace College women’s basketball team lost at Indiana Wesleyan in the NCCAA Midwest Regionals by the score of 62-47 on Thursday night.
The game meant little to the Lady Lancers (15-18), who are already assured a place in the 2017 NCCAA National Championships on March 15-18 as the host school.

Grace shot under 33 percent in both halves against the Wildcats (19-13). Chloe Pridgen led Grace with 14 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes, and Haley Richardson scored 13 points.
IWU jumped out to a commanding lead in the first quarter, going ahead 17-9 by quarter’s end.
Pridgen scored six points over the first four minutes of the second quarter to cut Grace’s deficit down to three. But IWU still led 28-21 at halftime.
The Lady Lancers shot just 32 percent from the floor in the first half and were a combined 1-of-4 from the foul line.
The Wildcats needed less than two minutes of action in the second half to assert a double-digit cushion.
The game stayed in IWU’s favor for the rest of the contest as the Wildcats coasted to the quarterfinal win in the regional tournament.
Pridgen shot 6-of-8 for her team-high 14 points, and Lauren Godfrey added seven points.
Pam Miller tallied four points and eight rebounds, Vironnica Drake added five points and four boards, and Brooke Treadway hauled in five rebounds.
