Triton Basketball Sectional: Cavs Win, Sets Up Triton Rematch
BOURBON – Culver used a strong second quarter to oust North Miami 72-55 in the opening game of the Class 1-A Triton Boys Basketball Sectional Tuesday night.
A 16-10 Culver lead after one quarter turned into a 40-19 Cavs advantage at halftime. Culver used a 17-2 run in the first half to shift the game in its favor. The Cavs opened up a 31-point lead in the second half in sealing up the victory and advancement in the state tournament.
Five Cavs reached double figures in the scoring column, led by 16 by RT Roberts. Nate Carnegie had 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Josh Krsek had 12 points and seven rebounds, and Cash Harris and Kia Riale each scored 10 points each, Harris adding five assists.
Trevor Linn did everything he could for North Miami (8-15), scoring 28 points and adding eight rebounds. Marko Krstic had 10 rebounds and Alex Kuhn and Tristan Working each had seven points.
Culver moves to 12-10 and sets up a rematch with host Triton (17-5), the Trojans winning the Jan. 13 matchup by 16 points. The two will meet Friday night in the first game of the semi-finals at 6:30 p.m.
