Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
3:51 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, West CR 1350N, Nappanee. Driver: Loren J. Lehman, 21, West CR 825N, Ligionier. Driver went into a ditch and struck a culvert at a driveway. Damages up to $5,000.
12:04 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, East US 30, east of East Van Ness Road, Warsaw. Driver: Joseph Karanja, 64, West Washington Street, South Bend. Karanja advised that he swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle that had pulled out in front of him, causing his vehicle to go into a ditch. Damages up to $2,500.
1:23 a.m. Sunday, Armstrong Road, west of North CR 200W, Leesburg. Driver: Kimbert A. Crafton, 31, Stonewall Court, Nappanee. Crafton lost control of his vehicle on a curve and went off the road, into a field. Damages up to $10,000.
9:40 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, North CR 175E and East 8 Square Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Robert M. Blackford, 48, EMS C27C1 Lane, Warsaw, and Chad T. Lawson, 39, EMS C28B Lane, Warsaw. Blackford struck the front of Lawson’s vehicle while making a turn. Damages up to $10,000.
8:07 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, North SR 13, south of East CR 850N, North Webster. Driver: Kinley A. Harnish, 24, South Melwood Park Drive, Kimmell. Driver swerved to avoid hitting deer, causing the vehicle to roll over. Damages up to $25,000.
7:42 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, south SR 13 and East CR 125S, Pierceton. Driver: Richard E. Glick, 73, East Market Street, South Whitley. Driver struck a deer. Damages up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
9:19 a.m Saturday, Feb. 18, East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Stanley E. Bryant, 61, Darlene Court, Fort Wayne, and Bret W. Wolf, 57, South High Street, Warsaw. Bryant backed into Wolf’s vehicle while backing away from a pump at a gas station. Damages up to $2,500.
4:41 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, North Detroit Street, south of Gilliam Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Cayetano S. Malagon, 26, East Wilcox Road, Warsaw. Driver advised he applied his brakes when a vehicle in front of him stopped quickly to make a turn, which caused his vehicle to overturn and slide. Damages up to $5,000.
2:04 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, Lake City Highway and East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Driver: B E. Banks, East Cider Mill Road, Columbia City. Banks advised that his vehicle was struck from behind white he was sitting at a red traffic light. The driver of the other vehicle fled the scene of the crash. Damages up to $2,500.
6:22 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, Lake City Highway and Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Theodore D. Harrell, 54, West Market Street, Warsaw, and Jonathan H. Pond, 38, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damages up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
4:52 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, Argonne Road and East Winona Avenue, Winona Lake. Drivers: Faye A. Wagoner, 75, South CR 100W, Claypool, and Dylan Bellamy, 19, South Pleasant Street, Silver Lake. The vehicles collided at the intersection. Damages up to $5,000.
9:09 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, East Pierceton Road, east of South CR 250E, Winona Lake. Driver: Devyn M. Masterson, 18, East Old road 30, Warsaw. Driver advised she ran off the right side of the road and struck a telephone pole due to foggy weather conditions. Damages up to $10,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10:31 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, South Huntington Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Fernando Mejia, 57, East LaPoint Drive, Milford, and Lindsay L. North, 31, North Long Drive, Syracuse. The vehicles collided while both drivers were backing out of parking spaces. Damages up to $2,500.
1:22 p.m. East CR 1300N, east of North CR 300E, Syracuse. Drivers: Ethel L. Yoder, 78, North Camelot Drive, Milford, and Raven A. Buchanan, 24, East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Yoder rear-ended Buchanan’s vehicle. Damages up to $10,000.
