‘Reduction Of Force’ Occurs At Warsaw Medtronic
WARSAW — Officials at Medtronic have confirmed that a “reduction of force” took place at the Warsaw facility today, Friday, Feb. 10.
Medtronic is the world leader in the spinal implant market, and its principal manufacturing facility for those products is in Warsaw. More than 600 employees work in the Warsaw facility producing implants for sale worldwide.
A statement from the company reads, “Medtronic operates within a highly competitive global healthcare environment. Throughout our global locations, we consistently evaluate our operations to advance our growth, improve our operational efficiency and strengthen our position for the future. As a result of inventory controls and product launch timing, the Warsaw facility is currently experiencing reduced manufacturing requirements. We recognize the strong work, dedication and quality of our Warsaw manufacturing team, and we are providing impacted employees with assistance to help reduce the effects of this restructure.”
Metronic notified the impacted employees today. Twenty-five employees were impacted.
