Emergency responders at the home where the accidental gunshot occurred.

CLAYPOOL — At approximately 10:43 a.m. today, Monday, Feb. 6, the Kosciusko County Sheriff Department, Mentone EMS and Burkett first responders were dispatched to an accidental gunshot to the hand.

The incident occurred at 8355 South CR425W, Claypool. A medical helicopter was originally called to assist but was later disregarded. The subject was reported to be conscious and breathing and is being transported to Fort Wayne.
