Free Weather Alert Radios Available
KOSCIUSKO — The Hoosier Lakes Radio Club provides training and activities for amateur radio operators. One of these activities is the Winter Field Day, which will be from noon Saturday, Jan. 28, until noon on Sunday, Jan. 29, in the Marsh parking lot in Warsaw. The public is invited to stop by to see the skills of these “hams” as they talk to people around the world using equipment that is “off the grid.”
As an added bonus this year, they will have up to 100 weather alert radios to program and give away between 1 and 6 p.m Saturday to those who cannot afford to purchase one for themselves. The only stipulations are, you must live in Kosciusko County, you must bring three AA batteries and give the club your name, address and phone number.
