Valley Swimming: Girls Get It Done
AKRON – The swim post season is right around the corner, and Tippecanoe Valley got a nice primer Thursday in a 93-58 dual win over North Judson.
Valley had a ‘1’ next to nine of its event swimmers and divers, paced by two wins each from Kinzie Prater and Olivia Livengood. Prater won the individual medley head-to-head against Brynlee Ambrose with a 2:47.17 and took the backstroke at 1:14.97. Livengood was tops in the 200 free at 2:18.02 and the butterfly at 1:07.11.
Mayde Fear earned a win in the 50 free with a time of 29.17, Tiphanie Hodge claimed the top diving package with 135.45 points, and Valley won all three relays, taking the medley at 2:14.47, the 200 at 2:02.74 and the 400 at 5:42.13.
Alaina Sallee led North Judson with a pair of wins in the 100 free (1:05.79) and the breaststroke (1:21.48). Alyssa Garcia edged Valley’s Blake McBrier in the 500 with a 6:55.49 to McBrier’s 7:01.50.
Valley will swim this Saturday at the Three Rivers Conference Championships hosted by Maconaquah. Swimming begins at 11 a.m.
