Wallace R. ‘Dick’ Palmer
Wallace R. “Dick” Palmer, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 in the Pilgrim Manor
Nursing Home.
Dick was born on April 1, 1932 in Plymouth to Wallace John and Elizabeth (Morris) Palmer. On Feb. 17, 1952 Dick married the former Mary Helen Hoffer; she preceded him in passing on Jan. 22, 2010. Dick was a commercial roofer by trade, belonging to Roofers Local #23 in South Bend. He enjoyed surf fishing in the ocean and spending time with his family. He will be fondly remembered and missed by all that loved him.
Dick is survived by his son, Stanley and Julie Palmer of Plymouth; and his granddaughter, Jenelle Palmer of California.
The Van Gilder Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the Palmer family with the arrangements.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 22 in the Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street Plymouth, IN 46563 with Pastor Mark Read officiating. Dick will be laid to rest in the Fletcher Cemetery in Grovertown.
A time of visiting with the Palmer family will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, in the Van Gilder Funeral Home.
