Valley Football: Moriarty Could Be Next Up
AKRON – Pending approval from the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation school board next Monday, Jan. 16, Stephen Moriarty will be named the next varsity football coach at Valley.
Moriarty wouldn’t be a stranger to the program, having a lengthy history with Death Valley Football. He served as a linebackers and offensive line coach in 2016 and the season before was a coach in the Tippecanoe Valley Youth Football League as well as a board member for the organization.
He has coached six additional years with Valley as an assistant coach and has coaching and scouting experience with the Lafayette Central Catholic and Seeger football programs.
Moriarty graduated in 1995 from Valley and later played football collegiately at College of Du Page and finished his education at Purdue University.
This will be the fourth coaching change at Valley since 2013. The Vikings were 3-7 overall last year, the team starting the season with Darin Holsopple as head coach and replacing him with Jeff Shriver and Aaron Norris as co-coaches mid-season. Moriarty would become the seventh head coach in Valley history.
