Marandet Saluted By Crossroads League
SPRING ARBOR, MI – Spring Arbor University freshman guard Paul Marandet has earned the Crossroads League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award.
Marandet, a former standout at WCHS, scored a career-high 25 points to lead Spring Arbor to a 62-53 road win over Purdue University Northwest on Friday. The point guard made a season-best seven field goals shooting 7-for-10 from the floor. He also made a season-high 10 free throws converting 10-of-12 attempts from the charity stripe. In addition to his scoring, Marandet added four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
On the season, Marandet is averaging 11.9 points per game, which is the second-most by any freshman in the league. He is also averaging 4.4 assists per game – the sixth best mark overall in the league.
Marandet helped lead the Tigers to a 25-2 mark during his senior season in 2015-16, including conference, sectional and regional championships.
Spring Arbor (10-6, 2-2 CL) will open the new calendar year with a home game against Crossroads League foe Goshen College (9-7, 2-2 CL) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
