Dale E. Ellinger, 75, Bourbon, passed away Dec. 22, 2016, in Signature Health Care Bremen.
Dale was born Feb. 7, 1941 to Jess and Pansy (Sitez) Ellinger in Harrison Township, St. Joseph County.
Dale was a life long member of the area and a member of the Bourbon First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and woodworking making crafts to sell at craft shows. He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, class of 1959. After graduation he worked at Breeding Farm Equipment, Allis Chalmers and spent 25 years working as a mechanic for the Marshall County Highway Department where he retired. He will be greatly missed by all.
Dale married Sandra K. Metheny on July 14, 1963. She survives along with daughter, Amy (Mrs. Ed) Wogoman of Goshen; sons: Cory Ellinger of Argos and Skyler Ellinger of Royal Center. Dale was blessed with three grandchildren: Aubrey Wogoman, Peyton Ellinger and Caleb Ellinger; sister, Mary Jane Smith and sister-in-law Barb Ellinger both of Florida.
Proceeding in death were his parents, son, Jeff Ellinger; brothers: Robert, and Bill Ellinger and infant brother Franklin.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Real Services in his memory.
A celebration of Dale’s life will be determined at a later date.
