Doris L. Grubbs, 89, Bourbon, passed at 7:37 p.m., Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 at Visiting Nurses Home of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

She was born July 3, 1927 in Mentone to Seth and Mildred (Robbins) Flenar.

She married on Sept. 25, 1945 in Mentone to Leslie G. “Tuffy” Grubbs, who preceded on May 25, 2013.

Doris was a homemaker. She was a 1945 graduate of Mentone High School. She attended Riverview Community Church. She liked flowers and enjoyed watching basketball. Doris loved her dog Buddy and her family.

She is survived by her daughters: Beverly Lewis, Rochester; Denise (Marty) Heckaman, Etna Green; her daughter-in-law, Tammy Grubbs, Bremen; her grandchildren: Jay and Leewanna Lewis; Amy Noel and Bob Cooper; Missy and Jim Smith; Justin and Emily Grubbs; Landon Grubbs and Kati Martin; Alyssa and Adam Siefer; Jason and Cortnie Heckaman; Adam and Amanda Heckaman; Rusty and Michele Heckaman; Holly and Isaac Sellers; twenty great grandchildren; and her brothers: Max (Linda) Flenar, Etna Green; Kay (Sue) Flenar, Etna Green.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son, Tim Grubbs; her son-in-law, Terry Lewis; and brothers, Larry, Bob, Don and Jerry Flenar.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 at King Memorial Home, Mentone. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 at King Memorial Home. Pastor Rod Ruberg will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bourbon.
