Beaman Home Receives Christmas Surprise

WARSAW — Residents of The Beaman Home were surprised by the news that Susie McEntire and husband, Mark Eaton, were stopping by the shelter for a short time while in town before the soundcheck for their Community Christmas Concert last Saturday evening.
While at the shelter, the two were warm and inspirational as they enjoyed cookies and punch and sat down to talk with some of the residents and share their personal stories of abuse and hope.
Board members and staff members were present to greet Susie and Mark, and later many attended their public Christmas performance at Lakeview Middle School. McEntire indicated that they travel around the country inspiring others with their stories of surviving domestic abuse.
One resident indicated she, “gained a lot of insight from hearing their experiences and knowing that other women go through the same thing.”
The Beaman Home is thankful for their visit, and how Mark and Susie inspired not only the residents, but also the staff and Board members during their unexpected visit arranged by local promoter, Mike Loher.
