LCA Basketball: McDaniel Leads Way In Win
WINONA LAKE – Josh McDaniel had a night to remember Tuesday.
The Lakeland Christian Academy cager tossed in a career-high 29 points to pace the Cougars to a 61-48 home win over Benton Home School.
The trio of McDaniel, Landon Twombly and Jeremy Gross all had career scoring bests as LCA improved to 2-2 on the season.
The Cougars trailed 11-8 after the opening period before taking a 28-22 halftime lead. The hosts led 42-39 after the third period before finishing strong with a 19-9 edge in the final stanza.
Twombly scored 13 points and also grabbed eight rebounds for the winners. Gross netted eight points and Jake Harmon had five rebounds for LCA.
Caleb Weaver led Benton with 19 points.
LCA plays at Portage Christian on Friday night.
