Duck Costume Soothes Rescue Goat’s Anxiety
NEW YORK — A goat in a duck costume. Need we say more?
Polly the rescue goat has several medical problems. She’s blind, has neurological problems and is underweight. She also has extreme anxiety.
Leanne Lauricella owns the Goats of Anarchy rescue and had brought home a duck costume for Polly because she thought it would be cute for Halloween.
When Lauricella put the costume on Polly, something amazing happened. It calmed the baby goat.
Lauricella said she had tried the ThunderShirt on Polly, but it didn’t have the same effect as the duck costume.
So, now when Polly has an anxiety attack, she dons the costume and all is right with the world. She even wore to a store once, causing her to snooze in the shopping cart.
A pig and fox costume also calm Polly, but her favorite remains the duck costume.
