Valley Basketball: No Distress At Bunker Hill
BUNKER HILL – Tippecanoe Valley got back on the winning track in girls basketball Tuesday night, stomping Maconaquah 75-23 to open the Three Rivers Conference slate.
Valley, which lost by 24 Friday night at Warsaw in its only loss of the season, rebounded with a purpose both figuratively and literally against the Braves. Valley pulled down 42 boards in the contest, seven each from Addy Miller, Taneisha Brown and Asia O’Connor, while the usual window washers of Hannah Dunn and Anne Secrest combined for 11 boards. Valley had 20 of those rebounds on the offensive glass.
Olivia Trippiedi had a nice night, recording six steals and four assists to go with her four points. Secrest led Valley with 13 points while Miller and Meredith Brouyette had 11 points apiece. Sophie Bussard and Emily Peterson scored eight points each. Every player dressed in green and yellow scored at least one basket.
Tippecanoe Valley moves to 4-1 overall and will host its own tournament this Saturday against Fort Wayne Wayne and either Fort Wayne South or Appleton North (Wisc.). Play starts for Valley at 10:30 a.m.
