Warsaw Alleged Murderer Enters Not Guilty Plea
WARSAW — A Warsaw man officially entered a not guilty plea after initially admitting to the murder of two-year old Adalin Stamper.
Christopher A. Grimmett appeared for an initial hearing in Kosciusko County Circuit Court this morning, Nov. 15. Grimmett was advised of his constitutional rights, the nature of the charge against him and the possible penalty of 45 years to 65 years served.
A not guilty plea was entered in Grimmett’s behalf. A status conference was set for 10 a.m. on Dec. 19 and a pretrial conference for 3 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2017.
Grimmett declined the appointment of a public defender and advised the court that he intended to privately hire an attorney to represent him. Grimmett was returned to the custody of Kosciusko County Jail and will remain there until further order from the court.
