Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, North Johnson Street, west of North Lindberg Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Janice L. Engelbert, 77, North Johnson Street, Warsaw. Engelbert struck a parked vehicle while driving around a curve. Damage up to $2,500.
3:57 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, South Union Street, Warsaw. Driver: Danny R. Liechty, 81, Chippewa Trail, Fort Wayne. Liechty hit a support cable for a utility pole and became stuck on the cable. Damage up to $2,500.
1:01 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, North Detroit Street and Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Driver: Brandon M. Collins, 31, North CR 900W, Cromwell. A deer ran out in front of Collins causing him to swerve into the center median. Damage up to $10,000.
7:53 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, Lake City Highway and Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Norwin E. Hoover, 69, South SR 9, Columbia City, and Kevin J. Byrd, 48, Cambridge Drive, Warsaw. Hoover proceeded through the intersection believing he had a green light, colliding with Byrd’s vehicle which was turning left onto Meijer Drive. Damage up to $25,000.
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
12:02 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, South Country Club Road, south of East Winona Beach Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Isaac D. Dachenhaus, 18, Faunn Street, Winona Lake. Dachenhaus swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of his vehicle, striking a utility pole and overturning the vehicle after colliding with a few small trees. Damage up to $10,000.
