KEDCo Offers Positive Outlook of Kosciusko County
WARSAW — The Kosciusko County Economic Development Corporation gave a glowing report for the county.
George Robertson gave a quarterly report on behalf of KEDCo at the Kosciusko County County Council meeting on Thursday, Nov. 11.
Robertson stated, “Overall, it has been a very good year for Kosciusko County…We’ve got a lot of work left to do, but we’re getting there.”
The council approved the re-appointment of the head of the Syracuse Public Library Randall Girod. Girod is already the head, however, every four years an individual needs to be appointed.
Dan Hampton presented the KCODE 2017 budget of $72,000 to the council. The council approved the budget.
The Kosciusko County Council approved two transfers for the County Election Board. One transfer of $8,000 went from the election operation expenses to the Absentee Voter Board Office. The second transfer of $600 went from election operating expenses to overtime pay.
The council approved a $10,000 transfer from the assessor personal property supervisor to part time.
A transfer was approved for the health department of $600 from the community health worker to the chief public health nurse.
Also approved was a transfer on behalf of the County General Circuit Court of $18,000 from the Public Defender Services to Legal Research.
The council approved the $97.75 transfer from part time maintenance to housekeeping.
Several additional appropriations were approved. Employee health insurance will be appropriated $4,829.21 for employee clinic mediations, $7,218.72 for employee clinic labs, $1,179.25 for employee clinic hourly rates and $3,290 for employee clinic monthly fees.
The council approved additional appropriations for the highway department. The highway department will receive $40,000 for group insurance, $20,000 for calcium, salt and weed spray and $10,000 for road stripe paint.
The council approved the sheriff’s department’s request to use the $15,000 gained from gun permits to go towards purchasing ammunition.
