Marilyn Joyce Bolinger
Marilyn Joyce Bolinger, 87, formerly of South Whitley, died at 4:28 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at the Hearth at Sycamore Village, Fort Wayne where she had been a resident for the past 8 years.
She was born Feb. 8, 1929 in South Bend, Indiana a daughter of the late Edward and Cecil (Johnson) Blain. Her formative years were spent in Lakeville. She graduated from South Whitley High School.
On April 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to Richard J. Bolinger. They always made their home in the South Whitley area. Mr. Bolinger died Nov. 27. 1996.
She was a Weight Watchers lecturer for 15 years. With her husband, she owned and operated M&R Drive-In in South Whitley from 1973 until 1981. After selling the drive-in, she worked for Star Bank, South Whitley and finished her work career with K-Mart, Fort Wayne.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah A. (Timothy) Collier, Pierceton; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a son-in-law, Wayne Roberts, South Whitley.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Ronald, Robert and James Bolinger; and a daughter, Kathy Roberts; and two half brothers, Fred and John Blain.
The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at the United Methodist Church of South Whitley. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service Sunday at the church.
Arrangements are by Smith and Sons Miller Chapel.
