CCS Announces Adopt-A-Family Sign-up
WARSAW — The annual Combined Community Services Adopt-A-Family sign up will be held 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. next Wednesday, Nov. 2. The program is for Kosciusko County children 13 years of age or younger who would not be able to have Christmas without the community’s generosity and car.
CCS is asking that families who were on the program last year allow other families to sign up on Nov. 2. Families on the program last year can sign up with Salvation Army on Monday, Nov. 7, or wait for a second CCS sign up once the initial families have been adopted.
Last year 274 families were served through the Adopt-A-Family program, translating to 1,038 children who received warm clothing and toys from people within Kosciusko. CCS works closely with Salvation Army to provide as many services as possible while avoiding duplication.
“Christmas is the celebration of the greatest gift ever given and we love this program because it allows people the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ,” stated Director of Client Assistance Peggi Lisenbee.
Applications will be available to adopt a family beginning 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3. Individuals, families, departments within businesses, church groups and organizations adopt families each year.
