Phillip J. Keller, born Jan. 20, 1964 in South Bend, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2016 at the age of 52 due to a heart attack.

Phillip was a resident of South Bend, where he owned his own business entitled Keller Construction for the area of South Bend. Phil was the son of Gerald Keller and Rose (Benson) Vargas.

Phil is survived by his three children. Kristen Johnson, Etna Green; Joshua L. Stacy, Westville; and Kenneth Keller, Bremen; other survivors include Phil’s mother, Rose Vargas, Plymouth; his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Chris Enders; two nephews and one niece live on to talk of Phil: Victor R. Navarro of South Bend; Jesus R. Herrera of Whiting; and Maria D. Herrera of Plymouth. Phil had several grandchildren and is preceded in death by his father, Gerald.

The Van Gilder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. According to Phil’s wishes there will be no services at this time. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date with the accompaniment of Minister Jason Fetterer in the New Oakhill cemetery.
