Soils Judging Teams Advance To State

SYRACUSE — Fourteen members from the Wawasee FFA Chapter competed at the Area X Soils Career Development Event Friday, Sept. 30, in Starke County.
The team of Bryce Wuthrich, Christy Carson, Brooklyn McCulloch and Madelyn Zimmerman placed first out of 46 other teams and advanced to the state competition. Wuthrich was also the high individual and Carson placed fourth individually in the senior division.
The team of Evan Coblentz, Austin Murphy, Lauren Ramirez and Jackson Templin placed sixth and also advanced to the state contest.
Members of the Milford Helping Hands 4-H Club also qualified to compete in the state contest. Those qualifying are Adam Beer, Cade Beer, Jared Beer, Justin Beer, Justin Mullet, Jake Wilkinson and Cameron Zimmerman.
