Verba D. Hochstetler
Verba D. Hochstetler, 81, Nappanee, died peacefully at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, surrounded by her husband, children and grandchildren at her daughter’s residence. She had been in ill health following a stroke one year ago. She was born July 21, 1935 in Marshall County to Daniel J. and Emma D. (Yoder) Mullet. On June 16, 1957 she married Lonnie E. Hochstetler.
She lived her lifetime in this area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Surviving are her husband: Lonnie; sons: Everett Ray (Joanna) Hochstetler; Dale Alan (Esther) Hochstetler; Brian Eugene (Sarah) Hochstetler; and James Aaron (Rebecca) Hochstetler, all of Nappanee; Randal Lee (Susie) Hochstetler, Bremen; Ernest Dean (Dora) Hochstetler, Milford; daughters: Patricia Diane (Marlon) Schrock; Wanita Faye (Richard) Kuhns, both of Nappanee; 41 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brothers: Glenn (Mary Ellen) Mullet; Arlen Mullet; Lyle (Alma) Mullet; Homer Mullet, all of Nappanee; and Dennis Lee Mullet, Houston, Texas; sisters: Laura Hochstetler; Freda (Homer) Miller; Mary (Lisle) Hochstetler; and Carolyn (Owen E.) Borkholder, all of Nappanee; sisters-in-law: Ina Mullet, Nappanee; and Wanda Mullet, Syracuse. She was preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers: Jonas; and Raymond Mullet; sister: Fannie Mae Mullet; and brother-in-law: Devon Hochstetler.
Family and friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and all day Saturday, Sept. 17, at the James Hochstetler residence (7207 W 1350 N). Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, also at the Hochstetler residence. Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
