Free Lumberjack Shows And Kids Camp
NORTH WEBSTER — North Webster Heart of the Harvest Fall Festival will provide family fun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the North Webster Lions Club Mermaid Festival Grounds. The location will provide plenty of room for the All American Lumberjack Shows and Kids Lumberjack Camp. These are free to all who attend and there is no admission fee to the grounds either.
This is the first time All American Lumberjacks has been in the region and the show promises to be even better than the lumberjack show of two years ago. Log rolling, cutting, climbing and other skills will be presented with a dash of humor. Show times are 12:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. and will last approximately 45 minutes.
The grounds will open at 11 a.m. with the first old-fashioned cake walks from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and another round of them at 1:30 to 2 p.m. Cakes are made and donated by local chamber member businesses and individuals and the walk is a big hit with every age group.
The Lumberjack Kids Camp are interactive games that will appeal to many children. It may include anything from sawing logs and races to tug of war. It will begin at 2:15 until about 2:45 p.m.
Hamburgers, tenderloins, sausage patties and drinks will be available to purchase throughout the event from the North Webster Lions Club. The bounce houses and vendors of many varieties will be open for shopping pleasure.
There will be a minimal fee for the always in demand cake walk and for food and other vendors. All this fall festivity is sponsored by the North Webster-Tippecanoe Township Chamber of Commerce. The chamber encourages one and all to come out to enjoy this family oriented event and to check out what North Webster has to offer.
