Lutheran Health Network/KCH Title Sponsors For Freaky 5K Family Halloween Run/Walk Oct. 29
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — The second annual Freaky 5K Family Halloween Run/Walk event, hosted by the Cancer Care Fund of Kosciusko County, will be held Saturday, Oct. 29. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at the K21 Health Pavilion, 1515 Provident Court, Warsaw. There will be a brief program at 9 a.m. and the race/walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. sharp. The race will be chip timed by the Kosciusko Runner’s Association.
The running/walking course will be from the K21 Health Pavilion, around the Lake City Greenway and finishing back near the KCH campus.
KCH will be the title sponsor again for the race. The Cancer Care Fund of Kosciusko County raises money to directly assist cancer patients in Kosciusko County with the financial burdens of their cancer diagnosis and treatment.
“What is unique about the CCF, is that 100 percent of all net funds raised are used to financially assist cancer patients and their families, right here in our county. The K21 Health Foundation administers our fund at no cost, which means more funds go to our friends and neighbors that are in need,” Ron Smock, event organizer said. “And to have The Lutheran Health Network/KCH get behind our cause and be the title sponsor is a big boost to our fundraiser. Last year’s race was so much fun … people dressed up and had a great time. Costumes are definitely encouraged!”
There are several ways to become involved; as a participant in the run/walk, a volunteer for the event or make a direct donation to the Cancer Care Fund. Participants can go online to the following sites for a link to pre-register. All participants that pre-register will get a souvenir T-shirt:
