Prior to arriving on campus each fall, Grace College freshmen collectively read an assigned book. The book assignment is part of Freshman Foundations, a course designed to help students discover their God-given strengths and navigate through college-related issues. “Good Faith” was this summer’s read. In it, Lyons addresses how Christians should interact with a society that disagrees with their beliefs.
Brent Mencarelli, dean of chapel and community life at Grace College, looks forward to hosting Lyons on campus. “Our theme on campus this year is ‘Core’; we are inviting students to focus on the basics of their faith and understand what is at the core of what they believe. ‘Good Faith’ speaks specifically to the foundational elements of our faith. We are excited to hear from the author of this impactful book and receive encouragement from Lyons,” he said.
Gabe Lyons is an accomplished author and speaker. He is also the founder of Q Ideas, a community that mobilizes Christians to advance common good in society. In addition to “Good Faith,” Lyons has authored “The Next Christians” and “UnChristian.” Lyons lives in Nashville, Tenn., with his wife Rebekah and their three children.
Chapel is a regular part of Grace College campus life. It takes place every week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Chapel reflects the heart of God by encouraging a community of faith, grace and worship. Chapel speakers include authors, musicians and leading voices for global concerns.
