Block of Love To Raise Money For Water For Good
WINONA LAKE — The Block of Love is an annual event that celebrates the community’s support of MudLOVE and raises money for Water for Good’s clean water initiatives in the Central African Republic. It features local music artists, food trucks, activities and an interactive social good marketplace. Last year’s event attracted close to 1,500 people from Winona Lake and the surrounding communities.
The event will be held in the village of Winona Lake on Canal Street and in the area surrounding the original MudLOVE garage on Park Avenue, Winona Lake. The event will take place from 2-8 p.m. Sept. 10.
The fenders TukTuk, Light Rail Curbside and Taco Jalisco will be providing food. Games will include a kid’s zone faceprinting, corn hole, soccer and giant janga. The organizations Belove, Destiny Rescue, Loving Shepherd Ministries, Water for God, Three Strands, Fellowship Missions and Foreveresta will be there.
Isaac and the Darlings, Platon and Void and other local groups will be performing.
The goal of the event is to celebrate the community while at the same time raising money and awareness for the international water crisis. The fundraising goal is $5,000. Donations can be given by cash, card or check to Water for Good at the event or online.
