Karla Jane Funk — UPDATED
Karla Jane Funk, 59, rural Akron, went home to be with her Lord at 6:52 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at her residence. She had resided here since 2001 moving from Wisconsin.
She was born Dec. 15, 1956 in Wrightsville, Pennsylvania to Dean and Thelma (Musser) Carracher.
She was married July 28, 1984 in Wrightsville, Penn. to Donald I. Funk Jr., he survives.
Karla was a quality inspector for Othy Orthopedics as well as Medtronic both of Warsaw, Indiana.
She was a graduate of Eastern York Sr. High School of Wrightsville, Penn. She was very dedicated to the Olive Bethel Church of God and a strong supporter and worker for Yellow Creek Lake Ministries and Campground. She was a lover of all animals and helped take care of them in any way she could.
She is survived by her husband: Pastor Donald I. Funk Jr., Akron; her daughters: Michelle and husband, Abraham Thompson, South Bend; Jennifer and husband Michael Carricato, Camp Hill, Penn.; Melissa Funk, Baltimore, Md.; Doni and husband Timothy Garber, Peru; son: Jason and wife Caray Funk, Waukesha, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren; her sisters: Margaret and husband Wade Smith, Wrightsville, Penn.; Linda and husband Brian, Wrightsville, Penn.; brother: Barry Carracher, York, Penn.; Dean Carracher, York, Penn.; brother: Barry Carracher, York, Penn.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Dean and Thelma Carracher; and an infant daughter: Shannon.
Visitation with the family will be held from 4-5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, 2016 at Yellow Creek Lake Campground in the Slaybaugh Auditorium. The funeral service will follow at 5 p.m.
