Banner Cuts Ribbon For New Warsaw Facility
WARSAW — A new medical device supplier has chosen Warsaw as the location for its newest manufacturing facility.
With Banner representatives and local dignitaries present, the ribbon was cut Thursday afternoon, Aug. 18.
While the facility currently stands at 43,000 square feet, the design takes into consideration future growth of up to 100,000 square feet.
One feature of the new facility is ultrasonic testing, which allows for the detection of both internal and external weakness in a given implantable piece.
“If a piece is implantable, you wouldn’t want to have metal that could possibly fracture,” Dave Simak said.
Precision is a key word when it comes to Banner’s products. If a customer wants a certain material cut to a certain length, it can be done to within five thousandths of an inch. Water jet cutting allows use of a strong stream of water to cut precision shapes in metal.
