Panthers Prowl, Graham Great At Canterbury
FORT WAYNE – NorthWood’s Mackenzie Weaver and Summer Stillson went one-two on the leaderboard while Warsaw’s Madi Graham posted another career-best score at Monday’s Fort Wayne Canterbury Invite at Chestnut Hills.
Weaver shot a career-low 73 to medal for the tournament while Stillson sank an eagle on the par-five 18th to bring her score to 74 for the round.
NorthWood finished in second in the six-team standings with a 343, ten shots back of Fort Wayne Dwenger’s 333. Abby Slabaugh finished at 90, Alaina Benjamin at 106 and Delaney Davis at 112 for the Panthers.
Graham continued her solid start to her senior season, firing off a 79, aided by a two-over 38 on the courses’s front side.
Warsaw’s Page Desenberg shot another under-100 round with her 94. Delaney Wihebrink had a 103, Mady Ray had a 104 and Izzy Ray come home with a 113. Warsaw’s 380 team score was fourth in the tournament, but improved 42 shots overall as a team from the 2015 tournament.
Warsaw will host West Noble Tuesday morning with a 10 a.m. first tee at Stonehenge while NorthWood will play in Tuesday’s New Prairie Invite.
