Achieving perfect attendance last year were, from left, Wes Backus and Jeff ShriverAKRON — With each school year come new faces and Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation welcomed its newest teachers Thursday morning, Aug. 4.

TVSC employees gathered in the commons at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School for fellowship and presentations by school administrators. Nine new educators were recognized, along with several people who stood out in various ways during the 2015-16 year.

The 25-year award went to Alisa Baker and Sherri Washburn. Achieving perfect attendance were Wes Backus and Jeff Shriver.

Teachers also handed out the Golden Viking Award to co-workers they felt exemplified service, whether to them personally, to another co-worker, a family member or anyone else.

Joining TVSC for a new school year are Beth Landis, Tina Berg, Alysha Beachy, Kylene Crabb, Angie Parson, Don Stone, Mike Jones, Precious Brenton and Katie Yoars.

Students return to TVSC next Monday morning, Aug. 8.
