Connecticut Resident Finds Bear Swimming In Pool
BLOOMFIELD, CONN. — Lynette Grande planned to take a swim in her pool Saturday afternoon, July 23, until she saw that a large black bear had beaten her to it.
The bear crashed through the rail fence at Grande’s home about 2 p.m. and swam in the pool for about 20 minutes, she said.
Bloomfield animal control officers suggested banging pots and pans together to get rid of the bear, she said.
“We’ve been here since 1973 and have never had anything like this, ever,” Grande said. “It’s obviously a phenomenon since it happened in West Hartford yesterday.”
On Friday, July 22, West Hartford resident Jeff Grody found a bear in the den of his house. Both bears eventually walked away.
