Marian Grad Jackson Inks With Celtics
Former Mishawaka Marian and Notre Dame standout Demetrius Jackson has signed a four-year deal with the Boston Celtics.
Jackson was the 45th overall pick by the Celtics in the NBA Draft in June. The former star guard declared for the draft following his junior season playing for the Irish.
Jackson averaged 5.2 points and 2.0 rebounds in eight summer league games for Boston. He is expected to spend his first season playing in the NBA Developmental League.
Jackson, who was the runner-up for Mr. Basketball honors in 2013 after a stellar career at Marian, is the top prep scorer in St. Joseph County history with 1,934 points.
Jackson’s first contract is reported to be worth $5.5 million.
