Jean is remembered well as the school nurse at West Noble School Corporation. She served as the school nurse for over 25 years beginning in the 1960’s. During this time she also worked on the family dairy farm in Cromwell and raised a beautiful family. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and formerly a member of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church. After retirement, she and her husband lived in Sebring, Fla., for many years enjoying every day like the vacation that dairy farmer’s life never allows. While in Florida she remained very active as a volunteer nurse for hospice as well as in the church thrift shop. Lastly, Jean was very proud of the fact that all five of her adult children graduated from Purdue. Go Boilermakers!
A memorial service in Jean’s honor will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Yeager Funeral Home, Ligonier. Revered Dr. Robert Shriner will officiate. A private family burial will take place at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
