Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
10:10 p.m. Sunday, July 24, East Wawasee Drive north of East CR 1250N, Cromwell. Drivers: Edwardo G. Oviedo, 44, East Orange Street, Cromwell, and Michael D. Sauer, 56, Beechwood Drive, Nappanee. Oviedo’s vehicle struck a trailer towed behind Sauer’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
10:48 a.m. Sunday, July 24, North CR 500E north of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Driver: Rochelle M. Phillips, 26, East Greenhaus Drive, Syracuse. Phillips became distracted and her vehicle left the road and hit a tree, causing it to roll onto its top. A witness stated it looked as if the vehicle was going to pull over “but kept going.” Phillips complained of shoulder pain at the scene. A minor passenger in Phillips’s vehicle, age 6, complained of leg pain. Another minor passenger, age 4, suffered bruising to the face. A third passenger, age 2, had an abrasion to the face. Damage up to $50,000.
10:23 a.m. Sunday, July 24, East Walnut Drive north of North Pine Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Todd R. Ritchie, 38, East Walnut Drive, Syracuse, and Connor A. Hartford, 23, Harvest Court, Greenwood. Ritchie backed his vehicle out of a driveway and it collided with Hartford’s oncoming vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
1:30 p.m. Friday, July 22, 221 W. Main St., Warsaw. Drivers: Beth E. Warren, 63, North CR 175E, Warsaw, and Roeleta A. Borkholder, 48, North Summit Street, Nappanee. Warren and Borkholder backed their vehicles out of parking spaces and the two vehicles collided. Damage up to $2,500.
