UPDATE: Wet Ride For One Driver
MILFORD — A two-vehicle accident at CR 1300N (Syracuse-Milford Road) and CR 300E, at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, was a little wet for one of the drivers.
According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, William G. Easley, 55, W. CR 900N, Huntington, was northbound in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobolt on CR 300E. He stopped at the intersection with CR 1300N, but did not see a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep was driven by Stephanie L. Yoder, 33, North Ogden Point Road, Syracuse.
Easley drove his vehicle into the path of Yoder’s vehicle. After impact the Jeep continued into a murky pond at the north west side of the intersection. The Jeep was mostly submerged, but Yoder was able to open the rear hatch of the vehicle and wade through the water to safety. Personal property in Yoder’s vehicle was ruined, including an Ipad and computer. A junction box, owned by Mediacom, was destroyed.
Damage was estimated up to $50,000.
Milford Police and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded.
