Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
9:09 p.m. Sunday, July 10, East CR 1200N east of North Acorn Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Katrina M. Byrer, 38, Meadow View Drive, Syracuse. Byrer’s vehicle struck a pedestrian, Allee O. Plickerd, 27, North Harrison Street, Syracuse. Plickerd was transported to the hospital in Fort Wayne with contusions/bruising to the head, left foot, wrists and left shoulder. Officers arrested Byrer for operating while intoxicated. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
2:15 p.m. Sunday, July 10, Leiter Drive and Armstrong Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Charles G. Whitman, 49, CR 20, Elkhart, and Justin L. Wentz, 26, Hartzler Street, Warsaw. Whitman’s vehicle ran through a stop sign and collided with Wentz’s vehicle. A witness confirmed this account. A passenger in Wetnz’s vehicle, Molly R. Woodling, 19, Hartzler Street, Warsaw, complained of pain to the entire right side of her body and had glass embedded in her right shoulder but declined medical treatment. Damage up to $25,000.
10:29 a.m. Sunday July 10, 5217 Heron Blvd., Warsaw. Driver: Unknown. The owner of a parked car reported damage to his vehicle. It is believed an unknown vehicle hit the car and drove away. Damage up to $2,500.
4:01 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 108 S. Lake St., Warsaw. Driver: Jesus Ribera, 53, West Perry Street, Warsaw. Ribera’s vehicle hit a parked car and he drove away. A witness stated Ribera appeared to be having a seizure. Officers later found Ribera and discovered he had epilepsy. He was cleared by EMS but issued citations for driving without valid insurance and driving while suspended. Damage up to $5,000.
12:38 p.m. Saturday, July 9, North Detroit Street and Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Melva A. Wright, 63, South Packerton Road, Winona Lake, and Teresa I. Powers, 61, West Old Road 30, Warsaw. As Wright was attempting to make a righthand turn, her vehicle rear-ended Powers’ vehicle. Powers complained of neck pain but declined medical treatment. Damage up to $5,000.
