Kosciusko

Officers with the Kosciusko Sheriff’s Department Department investigated the following accidents:

2:29 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at North Turkey Creek Road, south of East Wawasee Lane, Syracuse. Driver: Unknown. Officers were called to an accident scene where a car was in the treeline of a wooded area. Damage up to $5,000. When officers arrived on-scene there was no around the vehicle.

8:51 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at North Syracuse Webster Road, west of North CR 700E, Syracuse. Driver: Brendon M. Scheid, 18, EMS W23 Lane, North Webster. Scheid lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road. Damage up to $2,500.

8:33 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at South CR 300E, north of East CR 600S, Warsaw. Drivers: Cynthia S. Harris, 54, North CR 175E, Warsaw,  and Shayna E. Harman, 28, West CR 900S, Claypool. Harris drove into Harman’s vehicle’s path. Damage up to $10,000. Harris complained of minor back pain, but refused medical treatment.

7:07 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at West Old Road 30, east of North Riverwood Ranch Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Edward Esqueda, 18, East Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, and Reece M. McDonald, 18, Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Esqueda’s vehicle rear-ended McDonald’s. Damage up to $5,000.

1:52 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, at West CR 1350N and North SR 19, Nappanee. Drivers: John D. Stoller, 66, West Plymouth Street, Bremen, and Elida J. Gonsalez, 19, West Section Street, Milford. Stoller was backing his vehicle up to allow a wide-load semitrailer to turn, but didn’t see the vehicle behind him and struck it. Damage up to $1,000.

7:52 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at North Walnut Street, west of East State Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Joe C. Shepherd, 45, West Jefferson Street, Bourbon, and Nathaniel R. Carnegie, 42, East Hackberry Avenue, Monterrey. Shepherd drove into the back end of a trash truck. Damage up to $25,000.

Winona Lake

Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:

9 a.m. Thursday, July 7, at East Winona Avenue, east of South McKinley Street, Winona Lake. Drivers: Colin R. Shafer, 32, West Emeline Street, Milford, and David S. Craig, 59, North Parker Street, Warsaw. Shafer drove into a parking lot, but found his way blocked. He then backed his vehicle up and struck Craig’s vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.

12:33 a.m. Sunday, July 3, at Lakeside Drive, and west of Lakeview Drive, Winona Lake. Driver: Amanda L. Richard, 51, 17th Road, Argos. Richard backed her vehicle into a parked vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
