Mentone Council Approves New Police Radios
MENTONE — New police radios were the main focus of a Mentone Town Council meeting that did not quite last 10 minutes.
During the meeting, held Tuesday evening, July 5, Town Marshal Jim Eads requested the purchase of three new handheld police radios. Eads presented two quotes and asked to go with the first one for two dual-band radios.
He also requested the purchase of an NX200 radio from the second quote, bringing the total amount to $5,400.77. Eads noted he and Deputy Marshal Lou Mediano will carry the two dual-band radios, while the existing NX200 radios, plus the new ones, would be given to the reserve officer to use.
