Central Region Tournament Coming This Weekend
WARSAW — The 2016 Central Region Show Ski Tournament will be held this weekend, July 9-10 at Hidden Lake in Warsaw, Indiana and hosted by the Lake City Skiers.
Seven teams from five states will compete for the top spot in the central region. Competition will begin on Saturday at 8 a.m. with individuals competing in swivel ski, adagio doubles, freestyle jump and team jump. Team competition will follow with the Backwater Gamblers form Rock Island, IL, Chippewa Lake from Norton, OH, Lake City, Silver Lake from Fenton, MI and the Lake City Skiers.
Team competition will resume on Sunday at 8 a.m. with Wonder Lake from Wonder Lake, IL, Ski Broncs from Rockford, IL and Arch Rivals from Lake Saint Louis, MO. The awards ceremony will follow the last competing team.
Each team will have 20 minutes to setup for the show, one hour to perform 13 acts and 10 minutes to remove all equipment and props from the show site. In addition to flow, difficulty and execution, the teams will be judged on towboat driving, sound and announcing, dock and equipment, safety boat performance and showmanship.
The tournament is free to the public and bleacher seating is available, or spectators are welcome to bring a lawn chair. There is plenty of free parking, and concessions will be available at the show site.
