Head Start Hosts End-Of-Year Celebrations
WARSAW — Kids, teachers, parents and special guests celebrated the end of another successful Head Start school year.
At each classroom celebration, parents and guests were treated to a musical program by the children. After the music, each child received a certificate as the teacher told what the child wants to be “when I grow up.” Superheros from Spiderman to firemen were popular, as were veterinarians and teachers.
This year 135 children attended Head Start classrooms in Warsaw, North Webster, Pierceton and Mentone. Eighty-five of these children have now completed the program and will begin kindergarten in August. The class in this photo is Pierceton, shown with their guests, Tabitha Cooper and Donna Fisher, who brought along beach balls from Paragon Medical.
With the new school year, big changes are coming to Head Start. Two Warsaw center-based classrooms are moving into elementary schools, one to Leesburg and the other to Claypool. Mentone, Pierceton and North Webster classes already meet in the schools, and all indications are that this is a positive influence on the children.
