Commissioners Approve Bids And Repairs
KOSCIUSKO — This morning, the County Commissioner’s met and discussed bids for the work release renovation project, bids for justice building repairs, and updates on grants for the Kosciusko County Emergency Management Agency.
Chad Miner, county attorney, read bids from three construction companies for the work release construction project. Robinson Construction placed a bid for $366,868, DT Construction placed a bid for $354,865, and Clint Davis Construction placed a bid for $349,640.
In addition to the basic construction bids, three bid alternatives were mentioned. The brick must be matched to the original, the wallpaper must be removed, walls painted and stained carpet must be removed. On the first alternative Robinson Construction bid $2,600, DT Construction bid $2,841, and Clint Davis Construction bid $2,050.
On the second alternative Robinson Construction bid $4,672, DT Construction bid $1,279, and Davis Construction bid $4,500. On the third alternative, Robinson Construction bid $5,472, DT Construction bid $3,654, and Clint Davis Construction bid $10,500. Ron Truex, Kosciusko County Commissioner’s president, mentioned they would look over the information and decide at their next meeting which bid to approve.
Ed Rock, member of the incident management team of the Kosciusko County Emergency Management Agency, informed the commissioner’s of the updates of the grants his agency is in the process of getting approved. Rock also gave the commissioner’s his plan for the grants if they are approved.
Marsha McSherry, Kosciusko County assistant administrator, mentioned prices for repairs for the justice building. The compression for a chiller at $28,000 was approved. Two bids were placed to replace the five boilers. The lower bid for $225,500 was approved. The engineering scope of work for repairs for the justice building for $14,700 was approved.

- Rock, member of the incident management team of the Kosciusko County Emergency Management Agency, informed the commissioners the updates of the grants his agency has submitted. Rock mentioned his budget if the grants are approved.
- Steve Snyder’s plan to vacate public way of Erinheath plat was approved. The county commissioner’s meeting scheduled for December 17 was moved to December 19.
